Primordial Spirituality and Divinities, its Origin in Africa

African cultures have always held beliefs of a Supreme being, a force greater than the universe and the creator of all things to include the earth. This supreme entity is involved in day-to-day human life by way of lessor beings of superpowers. The Supreme power is neither male nor female (no he nor she), but is the all-in-all which encompasses everything.

The Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria refer to these super powerful beings as Orishas. The Orishas (known and referred to as Vodun), are also respected by the Edo of southeastern Nigeria, the Ewe of Ghana, Benin, and Togo; and the Fon of Benin. The feminine energies (Powers) of the power of earth, fire, rain (water), and wind are the most respected.

The underlying spiritual concept of the Orishas is about the same among the people of West Africa. In Vodun and the Orishas are the personification of the natural forces. Any element of the natural world that has useful functions for human beings are Orishas. The Orishas are the source of peace between humanity and the forces (Vodun) of the natural world, as they controls that which humans cannot control. These consist of the earth with her wind, rivers, lakes, mountains, trees, and fire.

Each of these spiritual forces has their own superpower which are designed to work together to help all life on Earth, its inhabitants as well as its elements. They are ara orun (people of heaven). Within the forces of the universe is intellect and consciousness and wisdom; thus, they are referred to as "Sky People", "Father Sky" and "Mother Earth" by many Indigenous people around the planet.

Yet defining an orisha as a deity does not do justice to the concept, in large part because the term deity often suggests a sort of anthropomorphic supernatural entity. Meditation to increase Cosmic Energy flow

The flow of cosmic energy can be activated by meditation, breathing exercises or other energy healing systems. However, I believe that the easiest way, and simplest way, to acquire this positive energy flow is through meditation.

Cosmic energy enters our system through the chakras (the energy centers of our bodies), and supports the individual energy field of our body. In many individuals, the chakras may be partially closed due to mental distractions such as stress, anxiety, fear, negative emotions and worries.

Cosmic energy enters our whole body but it can be guided through the proper use of our mind. Meditation helps our mind to be calm and focused to direct the cosmic energy. The mind and body tends to become one during meditation. This helps the physical and spiritual self to be able to receive cosmic energy and aids in energy healing. Thus, meditation imparts calmness of mind and develops inner peace.

When the mind is calm, the chakras are more open, thus the cosmic energy flow in abundance. By focusing on breathing, the base chakra starts absorbing energy from the earth, one will be able to increase the body energy in a short period of time as all of the chakras begin to open.
